A BLUEPRINT FOR MAORI ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
Maori Affairs Minister, Hon Tau Henare, will convene a hui later this month to prepare a blueprint for Maori economic development.
Mr Henare said the hui would be the culmination of a series of regional for a to be held throughout the country in the next two weeks.
"We don't want a talkfest in Auckland. What we want to do is fine-tune many of the business and economic philosophies that I believe will come through at the regional meetings into a workable business action plan for Maori," he said.
"Maori must make a positive step. I believe, that as a people, we’re in a position to do that, and I'm looking forward to sharing ideas with people over the coming weeks."
Hui Ohanga will be held in Auckland on October 20 and 21.
