Labour pleased with All Blacks loss

“Helen Clark seems to be the only New Zealander pleased that the All Blacks lost their World Cup semi-final match”, Sport Minister Murray McCully said today.

Mr McCully was responding to comments by Ms Clark that the election result could be affected by last night’s surprise loss to France.

“Her comments show just how petty, mean-spirited and negative Helen Clark and the Labour Party really are.

“I suspect that, contrary to Helen Clark’s view, the election outcome might have more to do with the performance of the political parties than the outcome of a rugby game.

I can see why she doesn’t feel too comfortable about that”.
