Greens up front about staying out in the cold
Wednesday, 24 November 1999, 1:13 pm
Press Release: New Zealand Government

"As someone responsible for coalition management and
Leader of the House, I know that the Greens position as
outlined by Ms Fitzsimons today would only lead to
instability."
"It shows any Labour-Alliance-Green
coalition would be fundamentally unstable," said Roger
Sowry.
Labour and the Alliance have signed a
non-aggression pact (similar to that which the Soviet Union
signed in 1970s) to enable them to campaign together.
"But
the Greens have not been part of this agreement. Voters need
to know Labour-Alliance-Green coalition is a recipe for
disaster."

Gordon Campbell: On the Sony cyber attack
Given the layers of meta-irony involved, the saga of the Sony cyber attack seemed at the outset more like a snarky European art film than a popcorn entry at the multiplex.
Yet now with (a) President Barack Obama weighing in on the side of artistic freedom and calling for the US to make a ‘proportionate response’quickly followed by (b) North Korea’s entire Internet service going down, and with both these events being followed by (c) Sony deciding to backtrack and release The Interview film that had made it a target for the dastardly North Koreans in the first place, then ay caramba…the whole world will now be watching how this affair pans out.
