New Managing Director For BNZ

Release From Bank Customer Action Collective

Nelson Daily Mail report 4 March 2000

"The Bank of New Zealand is to have a New Managing director less than two years after Mike Pratts appointment to the top job.

Mr Pratt becomes chief executive of Australian financial services for BNZ parent National Australian Bank and is replaced by BNZ's general manager of business financial services, Peter Thodey."

The above article sent to the Bank Customer Action Collective administration by a collective member from Nelson is the only knowledge or advise of the change. As a result of a serious mismanagement case from the Nelson Branch of the BNZ the Bank Customer Action Collective was formed.

Mr Pratt has been written to on numerous occasions regarding many issues and the organisation has never been afforded the courtesy of a reply. The news that there has been this change at the top is encouraging and we are optimistic the change may produce more accountable and respectful treatment of the BNZ customers. We are also hopeful that the New Management will urgently address in an ethical and just way the serious mismanagement issues that the Collective presently has before them. A new management structure may also be prepared to open up dialog on the presently tabled issues and resolve them, assisting all parties.
