Critical Mass Protest Today
Critical Mass is a global phenomenon, an impromptu street festival where cyclists, skateboarders, pedestrians, and all manner of un-motorized vehicles join together en-masse to 'reclaim the streets'.
"Today Critical Mass occurs in over 100 cities around the world. In the real world, you need only ride a bicycle and you have reduced: air pollution, noise pollution, overconsumptive land usage, marine oilslicks, millions of animal deaths, the incidence of heart disease, the road toll, your monthly transport budget. Your personal gain is nothing compared to the benefits you offer to the greater community." Damon Rao, Melbourne, Australia
Meeting on Friday the 26th of May 2000 at 2.00pm, Civic Square, Wellington Critical Mass-ers will take to the streets. see you there.
