Probation Workers Walk Off Again |
||
Community Probation Service workers across the country walked off the job again this morning, in response to management's refusal to reinstate their suspended colleagues.
Staff have been suspended for taking lawful and limited industrial action in support of a new collective agreement.
The limited industrial action involved not implementing new work practices. However they had continued to perform their duties as Probation Officers and Administrative Officers.
Suspensions have occurred in many offices throughout the country, including Nelson, Christchurch, Rotorua, Te Kuiti and Greymouth.
"PSA members will return to work tomorrow to see if their colleagues have been reinstated. If not, they will discuss their next step," said PSA National Secretary Richard Wagstaff.
