More time needed for Employment Relations Reform Bill submissions
More time needs to be allowed for submissions on the Employment Relations Reform Bill. The proposed 27 February deadline is too tight taking into account the Christmas break and other public holidays in the new year, says Road Transport Forum Chief Executive Officer Tony Friedlander.
“This is a very important piece of legislation which will have wide-ranging impacts on small businesses throughout the country. The current February 27 deadline does not give a reasonable amount of time for consultation with members before the preparation of a submission.”
Mr Friedlander says that the deadline should be extended for at least a month. “It is vital that the Government gets properly considered input into this Bill. More time will make this possible.
