Rainbow Warrior Delayed
Auckland Friday 7th May: The
Rainbow Warrior's arrival into Auckland has been delayed by
a couple of days.
The Rainbow Warrior was enroute from
Melbourne to Auckland when a crew member became ill. The
Warrior had to divert to Lord Howe Island to drop off the
crew member.
The Rainbow Warrior which was due to arrive
on the 12th May will now arrive at the earliest on Friday
14th May. The planned welcome ceremony will go ahead on the
Warrior's arrival.
The Greenpeace flagship the Rainbow
Warrior will be visiting Auckland - fresh from dramatic
activities in Australia - as part of a trans-Tasman campaign
to keep our food and environment free of genetically
engineered crops.
Exact time and schedule will be known
early next week and another advisory will be sent. Public
Open Days are still planned for the weekend of 15 and 16 May
from 10am - 4pm each day.

Gordon Campbell: On the Sony cyber attack
Given the layers of meta-irony involved, the saga of the Sony cyber attack seemed at the outset more like a snarky European art film than a popcorn entry at the multiplex.
Yet now with (a) President Barack Obama weighing in on the side of artistic freedom and calling for the US to make a ‘proportionate response’quickly followed by (b) North Korea’s entire Internet service going down, and with both these events being followed by (c) Sony deciding to backtrack and release The Interview film that had made it a target for the dastardly North Koreans in the first place, then ay caramba…the whole world will now be watching how this affair pans out.
