Three Arrests For Historical Abduction And Rape At Mount
Maunganui
Police today arrested three men for the
alleged abduction and rape of a woman at Mount Maunganui in
1989.
The alleged offenders will appear in the Tauranga
and Napier District Courts this afternoon.
Deputy
Commissioner Steve Long said the arrests follow
investigations made by Wellington based Police who have
worked on the case since April of this year.
Identities
of the arrested men would not be disclosed ahead of the
first court appearance so that any potential applications
for suppression could proceed without prejudice.
