Gore Library Roster Dispute Settled At Mediation
The dispute lodged by the PSA on behalf of its members employed at the Gore District Council library has been resolved, PSA national secretary and former Gore Borough Librarian Brenda Pilott said today.
“The dispute arose when the employer sought to change the existing rostering arrangements, established by the Council in 1986 on my recommendation, for staff working on Saturday mornings.
“The PSA was concerned at what it saw as a unilateral change to the roster arrangements for staff who were employed in 1986 and subsequently, and lodged the matter with the Employment Relations Authority.
“We are pleased we have been able to reach an agreed settlement with the employer that preserves those roster arrangements established in1986."
"We will
now put this issue behind us to focus on the future. There
are important issues ahead of us, including a major review
which we understand is proposing regionalisation of library
services for the Gore, Clutha and Southland
Districts."
