Parties Unite for Human Rights

Today political Parties are uniting to toast freedom in celebration of 40 years of human rights campaigning by Amnesty International New Zealand.

Executive director Ced Simpson is asking New Zealanders to reflect upon the fact that during the election campaign it is very unlikely that anyone in New Zealand will be imprisoned, tortured or killed for expressing a political opinion. In far too many countries the situation is quite different.

To hear more come to the Legislative Council Chamber/Great Hall at 1pm.
