Man Appears In Court On Murder Charge

A 54 year old man charged with murder, kidnapping and injuring with intent to injure, has been remanded in custody after an appearance in the North Shore District Court this afternoon

David Charles MCSWEENEY of Orewa, will reappear in Court tomorrow.

Police launched a homicide investigation on Good Friday afternoon, after the body of Suzanne Marie McSweeney, was found at an address in Anvil Road in the industrial sector of Silverdale. Silverdale is about 30 kilometres north of Auckland

Police investigators say enquiries will continue for the rest of the week.

This matter is now sub judice.

Police will not be making any further comment on this investigation at this time.
