Palmerston North Supply Chain Workers Suspended
Fifty distribution workers from the Palmerston North Progressive Supply Chain have been suspended by the company, says the National Distribution Union.
The workers were joining 300 striking workers in Auckland at the Mangere distribution centre at 80 Favona Rd and 100 workers at the two Christchurch supply chains on Shands Rd and Columbo St on a 48 hour strike.
But the union advocate Stan Stenwick said that the strike might have to be extended.
"If Progressive are going to escalate the dispute by suspending our members, we will have to consider a further escalation as a possible response," he said.
