Libz Declares Banana Republic Day

Libertarianz members including Leader Bernard Darnton will be at Parliament today from 12.00 pm handing out bananas to celebrate New Zealand's first Banana Republic Day. "In a breathtakingly arrogant move, Clark has shown that she thinks she can get away with anything. Her actions are that of a banana republic dictator. We're marking this inauspicious occasion by handing out bananas," Darnton explained.

Retrospective legislation introduced by the Labour government to legalise their theft of almost a million dollars of taxpayer money has enabled Labour to sidestep Darnton's High Court lawsuit, which seeks a judicial declaration that the misappropriation was illegal. Labour has also removed favourable tax regulation privileges from the Labour-critical Exclusive Brethren, and used archaic sedition laws to give right wing activist Tim Selwyn extra jail time.

"Some will say that we have gone bananas," Darnton said, "And of course we are quite mad - at Labour. Changing the law to escape charges against them is something I'd expect from a third-world dictatorship. Sadly, New Zealand has no constitutional protections to prevent this type of abuse by a government that is, quite literally, out of control."
