CTU Kaumatua Kiwhare Mihaka inaugurated

“The unanimous acceptance of kaumatua into the CTU is recognition of the important and vital role that kaumatua provide, not only to iwi, hapu, marae and organisations, but more importantly whanau,” CTU vice president Maori Sharon Clair said today.

“Kiwhare Mihaka no Te Arawa, a long serving trade union delegate of more than 50 years dedicated to the movement, epitomises the preciousness of kaumatua.”

“Today is a proud day for the 350,000 members of the CTU Te Kauae Kaimahi family. We celebrate our growth and our continued commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
