Mayor Prendergast Gets The Army Treatment

Wellington Mayor Kerry Prendergast with Army Light Operational Vehicle (LOV) driver Lance Corporal Gareth Williams at the launch of Ride of Your Life today.


Wellington Mayor Kerry Prendergast traded in her staff car for an Army Light Operational Vehicle (LOV) when she was taken to the launch of The Ride of Your Life in Wellington today.

Mayor Prendergast was among five local mayors who arrived at the launch in a variety of vehicles including the LOV, a Harley Davidson motorbike, ambulance and the Police launch.

The Ride of Your Life is a fundraising event for Wellington Free Ambulance which will be held on the Wellington Waterfront on 5 November prior to the annual fireworks display over the harbour.

The New Zealand Defence Force is supporting the event by providing a number of Trade Me and gala dinner auction prizes as well as displays on the night including military vehicles and a parachute display by the Royal New Zealand Air Force's Kiwi Blue parachute team.
