Silent protest at Boobs on Bikes

*Press Release*

*The Body Beautiful Coalition*

*Promoting love and respect for the human body*

The Body Beautiful Coalition will hold a silent protest at Boobs on Bikes*

The Body Beautiful Coalition opposes the Boobs on Bikes parade because they believe that the human body is meant for far greater things than the porn industry.

Steve Crow makes his money from taking men and women and turning them into objects for someone else to use for their own selfish gratification in his pornography empire.

The Body Beautiful Coalition loves the human body, and considers it to be a beautiful thing worthy of our respect and admiration, but they also know that when human beings are reduced to mere objects in pornographic videos and images, then the true beauty of the naked human form is distorted and harmed, and ultimately society becomes worse off because of the porn industry.

Boobs on Bikes is merely Steve Crow forcing his morals on the rest of Auckland city, and we know that he has no right to tell us how we should think and feel about the pornography industry which sees him making money by turning men and women into objects.

We oppose this parade because it is harmful to all men and women in New Zealand.

According to a May 26 article in the Sydney Morning Herald, psychologists and counselors say Internet pornography is a growing cause of marital problems due to increasing numbers of men who become compulsive users. .

A lengthy feature article on this issue was also published in the Age newspaper on May 26 and it called Porn the "new marriage-wrecker," the article commented that not only do large numbers of men become habitual users, but also that it causes unhappiness and self-doubt for many women.

The Body Beautiful Coalition will be present at the Boobs on Bikes parade tomorrow to register their silent protest at this very public failure to respect and love the great beauty of the human body, and also to promote the harm that pornography does to society.

The Body Beautiful Coalition will have spokespeople at the parade to speak to any media who wish to hear from a group that believes that the human body is meant for something far greater and more beautiful than the porn industry.
