Please Help Save my Mum by Anna J Y Shi

2nd July 2009
Please Help Save my Mum  by Anna J Y Shi

This is a public appeal for the safety and release of my mother from a “Brain Washing” centre in Wuhan HuBei China.

My name is Anna and I am only 17 years old on my own in New Zealand. Due to circumstances in China I have been forced to take refuge in New Zealand which is now my adopted home. Whilst I am lucky to be in a safe haven my mother has not been so lucky as she was arrested once again before she manage to come to New Zealand.

I am most grateful to be in New Zealand as it allows me to start a new life. I very much need your help, to let people know about my mum's situation in China.

I am hoping that New Zealanders will help me rescue my mum, Wang Yu-Qing.

As a Sales Manager of a local bank, she began practising Falun Gong meditation in 1997. Very sadly because of her belief and practising of Falun Gong (an ancient meditation) she has been arrested many times and has been illegally detained or more than five years between 1999 and 2005.

As you can imagine this has brought our family endless unbearable mental and physical pain besides financial losses. For fear of also being arrested I was forced to flee my home and adopted New Zealand as my home country.

On 22 Feb 2008 my mum was once again taken away and sentenced for “Education through hard Labour” for one full year. Instead of releasing her Feb 2009 after serving her sentence, she was still detained and we have been unable to get any information on her whereabouts and her condition.

Government officials will not tell us her whereabouts despite numerous requests. It was only through an international website “http://www.minghui.org” that I realised that my mother had been transferred to another “Brain Wash” centre in WuHan City, HuBei
Province. My father and grandparents at home in China still do not know her whereabouts officially – other than reports from the website.

I am very sad all the time and worry that my mum is being badly treated especially when it is widely known that the Chinese authorities harvest the organs of Falun Gong practitioners.

My family in China and I are humbly requesting help from New Zealanders to rescue my mum.

Please relay your support directly to your MP or Minister of Foreign Affairs and our Ambassador in Beijing, China.
