Water shutdown south of Kopu due to work on new Kopu Bridge roundabout
South of Kopu to be without water for up to four hours on Monday
Areas south of Kopu will be without water from 10 am on Monday (6 September) for about four hours.
Contractors will be replacing a portion of water main on the main water supply from Kopu south in order to accommodate the construction of the new roundabout as part of the Kopu Bridge road upgrades.
Thames-Coromandel District Council (TCDC) Utilities Engineer, Darren Teulon apologised for the inconvenience. "Every effort will be made to minimise disruption and restore the service as soon as possible."
Water main flushing will be carried out following the work, and he said it is possible that deposits from this flushing could get into the water supply. "While harmless to human health, these deposits could stain your washing and I recommend running your inside tap before using your washing machine or not using it until Tuesday morning."
