U/F first party to take up Ziln TV's election year offer

United Future is first political party to take up Ziln TV's election year offer

PRESS RELEASE 02/06/2011.

United Future Party first to take up Ziln's free internet TV channel offer to registered NZ political parties for the 2011 election campaign. http://www.ziln.co.nz/channel/unitedfuture Ziln, New Zealand's independent on-line TV network providing a unique New Zealand themed TV destination on the internet, is pleased to announce the first uptake of our offer to registered NZ political parties, of a free streaming TV channel on the Ziln internet TV network.

“We are pleased United Future is the first to take up our free offer which was made to encourage parties to promote their election policies in a longer form TV format unrestricted by the soundbite mentality of legacy commercial broadcast TV.” says Paul Brennan GM of Ziln. Initial approaches to all main parties were made in early March 2011 by Ziln.

“We are going in to a crucial election and more than ever New Zealanders need access to detailed policy information presented by the politicians themselves free of the restrictive 'we're running out of time' default of our legacy broadcast TV media, this is why we have offered the parties a free Ziln internet TV channel each with virtually no restriction on video duration, data storage or band width right up to midnight November 25th.” Paul Brennan went on to say.

Ziln's easy to use yet powerful content management system allows parties to operate their own channel from their own connected devices much in the same way they would a You Tube channel yet with more linkability, categorisation, the ability to include pre and post roll video messages associated with specific videos and scheduled playlist creation backed up by our 24/7 help. Facebook and Twitter feeds can also be embedded in Ziln channel pages closing the loop with social media.

Also Ziln's content distribution network's points of presence around the world mean ex pats can view video played out on the Ziln internet TV platform at local connection speeds as if they were viewing in NZ.

“We congratulate United Future for showing they understand the need to be across multiple New Zealand platforms to get their message out and we are pleased that our on-line audience will have the opportunity to easily access campaign TV content 24/7 as they make up their minds on who and what they'll vote for this November. Given the offer still stands we hope more NZ political parties will follow their example.” said Mr Brennan. www.ziln.co.nz is New Zealand's first internet TV network launched on September 1st 2009.

Now streaming 100s of hours of video per day with tens of thousands of visits per month.

Nearly 2000 NZ themed videos on-line and growing every day.

Unmetered to TelstraClear broadband customers meaning Ziln usage will not count against TelstraClear broadband subscriber's internet data caps.

Ziln operates up to HD quality video streaming on all internet connected devices from iPhone and iPad through to lounge screen TVs with 20 channels currently on-line.
