The Whole Country Must Watch Inside Child Poverty Doco
Mana is encouraging EVERY New Zealander to watch the TV3 documentary Inside Child Poverty to be screened on the channel tomorrow night (Tuesday).
MANA economic justice spokesperson John Minto says MANA is delighted the issue of child poverty is finally coming into focus in the last week of the election campaign because it should have been there from the start.
"Forget the election side shows - this is the reality of what 27 years of free market policies has delivered for the most vulnerable children in New Zealand.
"The documentary shows the country why MANA is angry.
"In stark realism it shows the lives of New Zealand kids whose situation puts us close to the bottom of OECD rankings on key child welfare indicators.
"Every political party, Mana included, must respond to these issues with hard policy. Mana will meet the challenge head on," Mr Minto says.
