Gay Marriage Bill Unintelligent

PRESS RELEASE
27 July 2012

Gay Marriage Bill Unintelligent

“The proposed marriage amendment bill is pretending that homosexual relationships and gay parenting is the same as a heterosexual relationship and a child having a mum and a dad," says Conservative Party Leader Colin Craig. “This is simply not true.”

“It is not intelligent to pretend that gender differences are not important. The proposal that marriage relationships should be redefined to include ‘any two people who freely and willingly enter into [them]’ as suggested by Louisa Wall, is not well considered, and most New Zealanders can see that gender difference does matter.”

“Do the liberal social activists pushing this agenda really think New Zealanders are unable to tell that these two things are different?”

“The situation is that 98% of New Zealanders are heterosexual, and approximately one per cent are the liberal social activists busy with their social engineering, trying to redefine marriage for the rest of us.”

“The other one per cent, are gays who are not busy trying to meddle with the system, and good on them for respecting what marriage already is, and always has been.”

“If this bill goes through, homosexuals will be able to adopt kids. In a normal world two men can’t create a child. Gay adoption doesn’t make sense, and it is certainly not in the best interests of the child.”
