Zealand Aluminium Smelters (NZAS) Information Release
The Treasury has released information relating
to the negotiations between Meridian and Pacific Aluminium,
and to the Government's one-off payment of $30 million to
New Zealand Aluminium Smelters Limited. The documents cover
the period from July 2012, when Meridian was first
approached by Pacific Aluminium, to August 2013, when the
Government agreed to the $30 million payment.

On The Rebstock Investigation Of The
Having spent $510,000 of taxpayer money on her investigation into the extent and source of leaks about the controversial Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade “Change” programme, Paula Rebstock and her team of sleuths might be expected to have come up with concrete findings to justify the expense. No such luck.
