MEDIA RELEASE
3 October 2013
Expression of Interest for Inland Revenue’s Transformation programme is now open
Inland Revenue has today released the formal Expression of Interest (EOI) process of its Transformation programme.
This is to procure a service provider(s) who will help Inland Revenue design the first stage of Transformation and also provide high level design for the future phases of the programme.
“We are excited to begin the next phase of our on-going transformation,” Commissioner Naomi Ferguson said.
“We look forward to engaging with people and organisations as we work to deliver a service that makes it simpler and faster for New Zealanders to pay their taxes on time, to receive their entitlements, and reduces the costs of compliance,”
The period for receiving Expressions of Interest will be published on the Government Electronic Tenders Service (GETS) on 3 October 2013 and will run for three months. The EOI can be accessed at www.gets.govt.nz
“Given the scale and complexity of this project, we will be looking for provider(s) with a proven track record of working on programmes of this nature and magnitude.”
Ms Ferguson said that this process will likely conclude early next year and then Inland Revenue will enter into negotiations with the preferred provider.
“Transformation is going to take time and will be undertaken in several stages. Throughout the process, and within each stage, there will be opportunities for different New Zealand service providers with the right skills and experiences to help us build and deliver a tax system for the future.”
