For immediate release:

McVicar vows to continue fight for police

Garth McVicar stated at a public meeting last week that he would fight to retain a 24/7 Police Station in Napier and no reduction in the number of police staff for the Hawkes Bay region, some said he was simply politicking, but he is now vowing that fight will continue no matter the outcome of the election.

McVicar, number 3 on the Conservative Party list is standing in the Napier electorate, has a reputation of being a man of his word who is not afraid to speak his mind and stand up for what he believes is right.

“Our police do a great job and deserve to know what their future holds, to date I am not convinced we are being told the truth so I am making a commitment no matter if I am elected or not I will continue to fight for our police and the people of Napier.”

“I have committed the last thirteen years of my life fighting for public safety and victims’ rights so I am not about to step away from that battle whatever the result on Saturday night.”

“Whatever the result on Saturday night I look forward to doing all I possibly can for Napier and our Police.” ENDS
