RainbowYOUTH Teams up with ASB

In a move that highlights ASB’s commitment to supporting LGBTIQ (queer & trans*) youth, RainbowYOUTH has been added to ASB’s True Rewards programme.

Under ASB’s True Rewards, customers receive True Rewards dollars when they use their ASB credit cards. These can then be redeemed in a variety of ways including at participating stores, or donated to a select list of charities on their website.

RainbowYOUTH joins an impressive list of charities supported by ASB, including St Johns, CanTeen and the SPCA.

RainbowYOUTH’s General Manager, Duncan Matthews, says: “I’m thrilled with the commitment ASB is showing to supporting the queer and trans* communities, by forming their Unity staff network, being awarded the Rainbow Tick, and now including our community organisation as one of the charities they support.”

The money donated through ASB’s True Rewards will be a great help in RY’s aim to support queer & trans* youth around New Zealand. It will go towards helping keep RY’s drop¬in centre up and running, supplying RY’s resources to other community organisations and ensuring the continued running of RY’s core services (such as the education programme).

Being added to the True Rewards programme is just the first step in an exciting ongoing relationship between RainbowYOUTH and ASB ¬ with further collaboration planned for early next year.

“ASB has really come onboard, wanting to support us and our initiatives. They’ve already offered resource, guidance and opportunities to work together for the benefit of RainbowYOUTH, ASB’s Unity Network, and wider community members” says Matthews.

ASB credit card holders who are part of the True Rewards programme can use their True Rewards dollars to donate to RY by visiting the ‘Charity Donation’ section of the ASB website.
