Greens decide not to stand in
Northland by-election
“It is our strategic
assessment that we should not run in the by-election and
instead focus on our nationwide climate change and
inequality campaigns,” said Green Party Co-convenor John
Ranta.
“The world’s attention will be focused on
fixing climate change this year and we will be at the
forefront of that issue here in New Zealand.
“We have a
real opportunity to address both climate change and
inequality and we want our party focused on those
issues.”
