NZ Super Referendum an Easy Choice for Taxpayers

The Taxpayers’ Union is backing ACT leader David Seymour’s call for a referendum on New Zealand’s growing superannuation burden. Reacting to Mr Seymour’s speech delivered this afternoon at the Party’s conference, Taxpayers’ UnionExecutive Director, Jordan Williams, says:

“Unless this problem is tackled, the cost of New Zealand Superannuation will increase by more than $5,000 per household per year by 2030. That’s an incredible burden that we can’t continue to ignore."

“It’s little wonder that one of New Zealand’s youngest MP’s is leading a much needed debate in this area. For too long his older colleagues have betrayed tomorrow's taxpayers and ignored the warning signs regarding New Zealand's unsustainable superannuation policy."
