Murderers take a walk in the park – How disgusting is that!

2 March 2015

Fancy a leisurely stroll in the park with your kids running around having fun - now picture that with 3 convicted criminals walking through that same park. All 3 convicted of heinous crimes. All 3 have are repeat offenders.

Jess McVicar, Youth Advocate for the Sensible Sentencing Trust is incensed and says the nonsense must be stopped. “One of the offenders is so dangerous he has asked not to be let out of prison as he does not even trust himself.”

“They are all under 'strict supervision ' but 2 of these men who are taking a stroll in a family friendly park are convicted murderers. How disgusting is that!”

“What happens if they break free from their supervisors and harm an innocent member of the public? Will we have yet another inquiry – another smoke screen and nobody held to account?”

Jess said, “This is not rehabilitation, this is putting danger right in the face of a new victim. This is our system saying here you go take your pick, choose your next victim.”

“These men are all on extensive supervision for a reason, they threw away their right to freedom when they committed their crimes and then broke their parole conditions.”

“It seems our Government is more worried about giving MPs a pay rise instead of putting that money towards keeping these vermin away from the public, away from our innocent children.”

“If this is what legislation is allowing it is an absolute crock and must be stopped.”
