MEDIA RELEASE
Media in-Court Review Panel Release Their Draft Report to the Chief Justice
10 MARCH 2015

The Review Panel for In-Court Media has released its draft report to the Chief Justice on in-court media coverage. This follows a process of public consultation on the discussion paper released by the Panel in March last year.

The draft report and draft guidelines can be located on the Courts of New Zealand website at http://www.courtsofnz.govt.nz/In-Court-Media-Review

The Panel is Justice Asher, who chairs the Panel and Justice Ronald Young of the High Court, and Judge Collins of the District Court. The Panel has received independent advice from Professor John Burrows QC and Dr Gavin Ellis.

Members of the public are now invited to make submissions on this draft report and draft guidelines. These should be submitted by 30 April, 2015. The submissions will then be considered, and recommendations from the Panel will then be finalised and sent to the Chief Justice.

Submissions should be sent to:
