CYF review is natural consequence of Liberal Lunacy
The Founder of New Zealand’s largest victim advocacy
organisation says while he welcomes a long overdue
independent review of CYF he seriously doubts it will make
an iota of difference.
Garth McVicar founded the Sensible Sentencing Trust in 2001 to expose what he calls the liberal lunacy movement and resulting levels of violent crime and child abuse.
“We wanted to instigate a debate around this nuttiness that has removed the essential ingredients to create a disciplined, well mannered, law abiding society.”
“Most of my generation was brought up with basic values of A-B-C-D [Accountability, Boundaries, Consequences and Disciplined] and as a result New Zealand was the safest country in the OECD.”
“The real catastrophe is that the gradual erosion of those values has had a compounding effect that has resulted in the need for organisations like CYF and god-knows how many other groups to deal with what is essentially a self-created, man-made problem.”
Prime Minister John Key said the review was necessary.
“My understanding is there have been a number of reports on CYF, which indicate there are some issues that certainly need to be addressed; just the sheer number of calls the organisation get as a call of last resort.”
“So I think it does make sense to have top-to-bottom review of CYF and see whether we are addressing all the issues that are there.”
But McVicar said, “No matter what the Prime Minister says, if this independent review fails to have an honest look at the political correct lunacy that has annihilated traditional families and created the problem it will just be more money down the drain.”
“Most New Zealanders know the solution to this problem is to incentivise good traditional families with Mums and Dads and a kitchen table for the kids to learn some good old fashioned A-B-C-D.
“But to do that we will need to get rid of the liberal lunacy that created the problem in the first place.”
