Transition plan great solution for RA clients and staff

Ministry of Social Development Deputy Chief Executive Murray Edridge says transferring Relationships Aotearoa staff to Stand Children’s Services offers the best solution for a smooth transition.

“I’m really pleased that Stand Children’s Services has stepped in with the offer of new fixed term contracts for clinical and counselling RA staff.

“Details on the logistics of transferring clients and their files are still being worked through. All RA clients will still have access to counselling services and contact will be made directly with clients in the next few weeks.

“MSD is funding the transition and will work closely with Stand over the next 12 months on longer term planning for counselling services nationwide. Vitae and Lifeline remain involved in supporting the transition.

“Lifeline will continue to operate as a contact point for clients and anyone needing information or services can phone the Lifeline Helpline on 0800 543 354.

“I want to thank the other agencies Barnados and Family Works who also helped during this time of transition.

“Stand Children’s Services are well placed to deliver this service and I thank them for stepping in and providing a practical solution during this time of change,” said Mr Edridge.
