Reminder: Daylight saving starts this weekend

New Zealand daylight saving begins this Sunday, 27 September 2015, when clocks go forward an hour at 2.00 am to become 3.00 am. The extra hour of daylight in the evenings will run till Sunday 3 April 2016, when clocks go back an hour at 3.00 am to 2.00 am.

People may find it convenient to advance their clocks by one hour before going to bed on Saturday 26 September.

The change to daylight saving is also a good time for residents to check their household emergency plans, survival kits and home smoke alarms.
