Parents of Multiples Make it Happen

Parents of Multiples Make it Happen: Multiples Awareness Week 2015

Sunday 1st November - Saturday 7th November 2015

Twins and triplets are cute, fascinating, exciting and sometimes trouble. And while the public loves to zoom in on the children for all these reasons, behind the scenes are some hardworking mums and dads who in their own amazing way are making things happen.

This Multiples Awareness Week (1st- 7th November) clubs around the country affiliated to Multiples NZ (formally New Zealand Multiple Birth Association) are celebrating these wonderful parents with the theme “Parents of multiples make it happen.” Clubs will be hosting a range of events from family picnics to bike rides.

“Whether it be the parents who have returned to work, the volunteers who run clubs and support other families, the solo parents, the stay at home mums, or the mumpreneurs, and the list could go on – we all are able to make things happen, and this strength should be celebrated and embraced.” Carolyn Lister, President, Multiples NZ.

Newly re-branded Multiples NZ (formally New Zealand Multiple Birth Association) is the national body that represents 14 local Multiple Birth Clubs and over 1500 families throughout New Zealand. The volunteer organisation aims to provide education, support and advocacy to families of multiples, by providing guidance and resources to their local Multiple Birth Clubs and via the Multiples NZ website.
