Another baby assaulted – SST says Enough is Enough

Another baby assaulted – SST says Enough is Enough

11th November 2015

Sensible Sentencing Trusts Manawatu Spokesman, Scott Guthrie, is calling on New Zealanders to support his call for consecutive sentences for anyone convicted of child abuse.

Mr Guthrie says the level of child abuse in New Zealand is totally unacceptable.

“It was this issue that ultimately lead to me becoming part of the SST team, my passion is in the area of consecutive sentencing and child abuse and I will do all I can to eliminate this despicable cowardly crime from New Zealand society.”

“Leon Jayet-Cole & Ihaka Paora Braxton Stokes are 2 more names New Zealand can ashamedly add to the ever-growing list of defenceless babies & children either murdered or viciously and seriously beaten & assaulted by people they trust and depend on in their day to day lives and now we have another.”

“On Saturday in Waitara Taranaki a four week old baby girl was left fighting for her life in Starship hospital after her father allegedly viciously assaulted her.”

“The time is well overdue for us as a country to stand up and protect our weak and innocent babies and children and say enough is enough.”
