Be a Star – Sign a Car!

The Wellington City Mission’s eye-catching Star Car is revving up for its second year. It’s now ready to start travelling around Greater Wellington – setting up in malls, supermarkets, and Z service stations, to collect donations for the Christmas Star Appeal.

However this year brings a twist. After making a donation (via cash or eftpos) people can sign one of the hundreds of stars that decorate it. Mitsubishi Motors NZ has also generously supplied a new Mirage to use as one of the two Star Cars.

For the convenience of donors, The Star Cars will be equipped with eftpos facilities – kindly provided again by EFTPOS NZ.

Wellington City Mission Marketing & Fundraising Manager Robbie Ross said: “We’re really excited to see how people receive the new-look Star Car this year. You can’t miss it, so hopefully it brings a smile to people’s faces – and of course encourages them to donate and sign it!”

Donations go towards helping Greater Wellington’s most vulnerable families and individuals – both now and in the coming year. They’ll be able to access The Mission’s vital services (such as food parcels, Budgeting Advice, and in-home support) and stay on their path to a positive and sustainable future.

• 2-3 Dec: Countdown, Porirua
• 4-6 Dec: Walk of Fame, Wellington waterfront (outside Te Papa)
• 5-6 Dec: Countdown, Churchill Drive
• 9 Dec: Z Johnsonville
• 11 Dec: Z High St
• 12-13 Dec: The Warehouse, Lyall Bay
