GOFF MISSING CHANCE TO SET HIGHER ETHICAL
STANDARD
SUNDAY 22 DECEMBER
2015
The Taxpayers’ Union is shocked
that Labour Party Mayoral Candidate, Phil Goff, will not be
standing down as an MP to campaign for the Super City role
and is labelling it a ‘missed opportunity’ for Mr Goff
to set a higher standard than Len Brown. Taxpayers’
Union Executive Director, Jordan Williams, says:
“It appears that Mr Goff will be using taxpayer funded
staff, offices, and taxis, intended for his job in
Wellington, to campaign in Auckland. It’s taxpayer funded
campaigning through the back door.”
“We believe Mr
Goff has missed a chance to set a higher ethical standard
than his Labour Party colleague Len Brown. The decision
won’t fill ratepayers with confidence that Mr Goff will be
anymore prudent that Mr Brown in spending public
money.”
