Notice of hearing for fungicide application


The Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) advises a hearing is scheduled for an application to import for release DuPont Zorvec Enicade Fungicide, which contains the new active ingredient oxathiapiprolin.

DuPont Zorvec Enicade Fungicide is an oil dispersion formulation intended to be used to control downy mildew in onions. It is intended to be applied up to two times per crop cycle by boom spray methods, with a minimum of 10 days between applications and a maximum application rate equivalent to 35g of oxathiapiprolin per hectare.

The submission period was held last year. The hearing will be held on 9 March 2016 at Willeston Conference Centre, Level 7, 22–28 Willeston St, Wellington. It will begin at 9.30am. The final decision will be available on the EPA website.

The EPA’s role is to decide on applications under the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms (HSNO) Act to import and manufacture hazardous substances. We put controls in place to manage the risks of hazardous substances to safeguard people and the environment.
