Fraud accused looks to be determined unfit to stand trial

By Sophie Boot

April 27 (BusinessDesk) - A person facing fraud-related charges is seeking to be determined unfit to stand trial on medical grounds, the High Court in Wellington heard today.

Justice Graham Lang heard from two expert witnesses on the second day of the preliminary hearing today, which is covered by heavy suppression orders.

The Crown, represented by Grant Burston and Matthew Ferrier, opposed the application while Colin Carruthers QC was counsel for the defence.

The person is one of three people facing fraud charges, all of whom have name suppression.
