23rd May 2016 The Sensible
Sentencing Trust has released a statement saying they will
not condone violence at any of the Moko events they are
involved with.
Sensible Sentencing is planning
nationwide rallies and marches to be held at every Court
House to coincide with the sentencing of Moko’s killers at
9am on 27th June.
Trust founder, Garth McVicar said
an event permit had been issued by police and Court staff
was being notified.
“Sensible Sentencing does not
condone violence in any shape or form.”
“The
person who made the comment about violence on TV 3 news last
night is not connected or involved in organising our
nationwide rallies.”
“While our politicians and
Justice System has endorsed violence by allowing Moko’s
killers to do a dirty back room plea bargain to downgrade
the brutal killing of Moko from murder to manslaughter, SST
does not believe in fighting violence with violence.”
