Responding to the report that taxpayers have picked up
the bill for an MP’s high staff turnover, Taxpayers’
Union spokesperson, Ben Craven, says:
“In the
private sector, firing employees without stable grounds for
doing so can result in significant financial penalty for the
firm. The same cannot be said for politicians and political
staffers.”
“While it’s not uncommon for
relationships between managers and employees to break down,
taxpayers should not be left picking up the
bill.”
