Jetstar workers out of pocket
About 300 Jetstar employees are out of pocket as a technical issue has interrupted Jetstar’s payroll system.
Fairfax has reported that ANZ has taken responsibility for the glitch, and expects the issue to be resolved later today.
E tū Aviation spokesperson, Kelvin Ellis says that any payroll interruptions can cause major issues for workers and their families.
“With spiralling living costs, Jetstar employees are often living paycheque to paycheque, so a problem like this can cause major issues,” Kelvin says.
“Our members might be in the air, working overseas, or otherwise uncontactable when something like this happens. They can’t easily rearrange their bill payments and other finances at the drop of a hat just because the bank made a mistake.”
Kelvin says that E tū Aviation has been working with Jetstar to ensure the issue is resolved as quickly as possible.
