Another Week, Another Corporate Welfare Jolly

Responding to Steven Joyce’s latest announcement of recipients of taxpayer-funded corporate welfare, Taxpayers’ Union Executive Director, Jordan Williams, says:

“Another week, another few million Steven Joyce is handing out in corporate welfare. It’s robbing hard working Kiwi taxpayers to subsidise the very projects which don’t stack up to private sector entrepreneurs.”

“If Mr Joyce was really good at picking winners guaranteed to deliver what he calls ‘impressive commercialisation outcomes’ he would be a merchant banker not a politician using taxpayer money to subsidise private enterprises.”

“The only guaranteed return for Mr Joyce’s regime of corporate welfare is photo-ops for politicians and higher taxes for everyone else.”
