Response to Grey Power

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE New Zealand Seniors Party

Media Release

Paul Rea, acting chairperson of the New Zealand Seniors Party, in responding to the President of Grey Power’s notice that Grey Power is not and will not be aligned to the New Zealand Seniors Party said it came as no surprise to him. There is no intention for the NZ Seniors Party to be affiliated with Grey Power, neither would we wish to attach ourselves to an organisation that purports to represent Seniors but in reality has in our view done nothing of real value during its 26 years of its existence. Mr Rea went on to say the one claim to fame was in achieving the abolishment of surtax which effectively allowed state employees to draw both a government employee pension from the government and State superannuation. Well done, we are sure they are entitled to it, but it’s a pity they did nothing for pensioners in receipt of a pension from overseas who are not allowed to keep their earned pension under section 70, in fact we are informed the Grey Power Board denied support. Mr Rea commented further saying the same can be said about New Zealand First who during their existence, despite shouting a great deal has achieved nothing of real consequence either.

Both Grey Power and New Zealand First purport to support and represent the interest of Seniors at a government level but would have a hard time showing just what they have done for Seniors toward removing the hardships that superannuitants are suffering right now. There is no specific statement in either of their range of policies or any of the main stream parties policies either to address this situation which is now at crisis point”

Well, help is on the way, the New Zealand Seniors Party does know what it is going to do about the hardships pensioners are suffering. Its main stream non-negotiable stance is there in black and white on the website in the Party’s policies section which outlines just what we will do when the opportunity avails itself.

RELEASE ENDS.

Depictions of Islam in Western popular culture have rarely been positive, even before 9/11. Any number of movie examples come to mind, beginning with Rudolf Valentino’s role (over a century ago) as the romantic Arab hero in The Sheik...
