Forest & Bird Announces Kevin Hague as New Chief Executive

5 September 2015

Forest & Bird is pleased to announce the appointment of Kevin Hague as their new Chief Executive.

Mr Hague announced today that he will take up his new role in October, and will be standing down as a Green Party MP.

“As our new Chief Executive, Mr Hague brings considerable experience across the community, government and business sectors. In particular, he has senior leadership experience as Chief Executive of the West Coast District Health Board and Chief Executive at the New Zealand AIDS Foundation, as well as knowledge of Aotearoa NZ’s political environment,” says Forest & Bird Board Member Kate Graeme.

“Kevin has an excellent grasp of conservation opportunities and challenges in Aotearoa New Zealand and globally. He has been active at many levels of the conservation sector and is already familiar with Forest & Bird’s values and focus,” says Ms Graeme.

“We are delighted that Mr Hague, with his commitment and passion for conservation, political experience, and expertise in senior management will be taking the helm at Forest & Bird, New Zealand’s leading, independent, conservation organisation.”

“We welcome Mr Hague to his new role, opening a new chapter in Forest & Bird’s ongoing efforts to protect New Zealand’s natural environment.”
