13 OCTOBER 2016

Taxpayers’ Union Executive Director, Jordan Williams, says:

“Due to fiscal drag, most New Zealanders are paying a higher proportion of their income in tax than when John Key became Prime Minister in 2008. Now is the time to reduce that burden, and give households meaningful tax relief.”

“If the Government can’t deliver tax relief in next year’s Budget, then it is doubtful that this Government ever will.”

“Tax cuts planned for 2017 were cancelled by Bill English last year. Today’s figures show that there is plenty of money in the kitty for tax relief for every New Zealander.”
