Earthquake Rebuild Supported by UK Scaffolding Manufacturer

New Zealand: Earthquake Rebuild Supported by UK Scaffolding Manufacturer

New Zealand are in the midst of a rebuild programme following the recent earthquake.

New Zealand contractors are facing many factors – the main one being a lack of skilled workers to install scaffolding, provide management and dismantling services, during the earthquake rebuild.

Graham Burke, chief executive of Scaffolding Access and Rigging New Zealand is calling on the government to permit skilled scaffolders to be granted visas to allow them to stay in the country. To work with the rebuild programme, due to severe lack of advanced scaffolders – even before the earthquake on November 14th.

Not only has the lack of skilled scaffolders posed a problem for New Zealand, companies and contractors have also began to face a shortage of scaffolding.

Unfortunately we cannot supply the scaffolders – under the current visa legislation.

However, we are keeping a watchful eye on the calls made the chief executive of Scaffolding Access and Rigging New Zealand.

Should the visa restraints be slackened during this time of need to permit UK scaffolders long term entry for the earthquake rebuild – we may be able to help there too!
