The Opportunities Party is moving the country forward

For Immediate Release – The Opportunities Party is moving the country forward without even being in Parliament

After 33 years of inaction, and in the wake of the release of The Opportunities Party's widely-acclaimed Real Deal Cannabis Reform policy, Ōhāriu MP Peter Dunne has finally decided Class-C drugs like cannabis should be legalised.

TOP Candidate for Ōhāriu, Jessica Hammond Doube, says Dunne's capitulation is an example of what a party of fresh, evidence-based, solutions can achieve with the support of the New Zealand public. "It's intriguing that Dunne's change of heart came only three days after my candidacy was announced. I regret, though, that it didn't come soon enough for the thousands of New Zealanders who have been criminalised, while he waited for someone else to show leadership.

“We are pleased that he is following our lead on this issue, but we have many other solutions to get New Zealand back on track. I look forward to talking to Peter about more of our policies on the campaign trail. I hope he will see their value and adopt those too."
