Green Party showing the love to Whangārei this Friday

Whangārei will be hosting Green Party co-leader James Shaw at a Love New Zealand campaign event this Friday evening.

"It's exciting. It's a sign of the positive shift going on that the Green campaign has so much momentum here. I think everyone in Whangārei believes in clean rivers, ending poverty, developing this region and creating a sustainable future for our children." says local Green Party candidate Ash Holwell.

As well as presenting an opportunity for Whangārei residents to hear from and talk with both James Shaw and leadership team member Marama Davidson, the evening will double as the Whangārei Campaign Launch.

"That James Shaw and Marama Davidson of the leadership team are here for our launch, along with Chlöe Swarbrick, who will be the youngest MP to enter parliament in 42 years, and Golriz Ghahraman, who will be the first refugee to become an MP, shows the Greens commitment to this area, and our talented, diverse and active list." says Ash Holwell.

The Whangārei Launch will be held at Work Ready, 14 Clyde Street at 7pm Friday August 18, with speeches, performers, a chance to meet and question the Green Party team, live artwork, outdoor projections and live t-shirt screenprinting.

"Our message to voters this year is 'Don't sit this one out'. This event promises to be one of our biggest of the campaign, and I'm proud that Whangārei was selected as a priority destination." says Ash Holwell.
