ACT Candidate Slams the Coalition of Taxation

ACT’s Wairarapa candidate, Roger Greenslade, has spoken out against Labour’s planned roll-out of new taxes which would lead to a coalition of taxation if they were to form a government.

“It's a shame that Labour's solution to everything is to bring in a range of new taxes. Tax this, tax that. "The water tax, for example, is not the solution to better water use. It is a simplistic tax that will hit the rural communities, like those that form the Wairarapa electorate, the most.”

“Labour claims that the new tax will have a limited effect on food prices, however, farmers and growers that work the land know otherwise.”

"The reality is that the only way Labour and New Zealand First could afford all their election bribes is to tax us to death; which they will also have covered with an inheritance tax.”

"With any new tax, once it is in place it is very easy to start raising the tax rate. GST has increased 50% since its introduction despite promises that it would not be raised. ACT, on the other hand, would reduce tax rates on personal income and company tax.”

"ACT is the only party that will reduce wasteful government spending, eliminate corporate welfare and remove red tape.”

"A Party Vote for ACT means less wasteful government spending and more for New Zealanders, since they know best how to spend their money."
